WhatsApp Introduces Approve New Participants Feature for Group Chats

WhatsApp has been continuously improving its platform to provide users with better and more secure communication services. The latest feature added to the platform is called “Approve New Participants,” and it has been specifically designed for group admins. This feature allows group admins to better moderate their groups and protect them from unwanted members.

Before this feature was introduced, anyone could join a WhatsApp group by simply clicking on a group invite link or being added by another participant in the group. However, with the Approve New Participants feature, new participants will have to wait until the group admin grants them permission to join the group. This means that the admin has complete control over who can join the group and who cannot.

To enable this feature, the group admin needs to go to the Group Settings option in the Group Info section and select the “Approve New Participants” option. Once this feature is turned on, every participant that requests to join the group will have to wait for the admin’s approval.

As a participant, when you request to join a group that has enabled this feature, you will see a message that says, “An admin must approve your request” above the Request to Join button. You can also share your reason for joining the group with the group admin or cancel your request.

As a group admin, you will be notified when there are pending requests to review. You can either approve or reject the request after reviewing it. If the request is approved, the chat will reflect which admin added the participant or if they joined using the group’s invite link.

Here’s how to use Approve New Participants feature on WhatsApp

1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
2. Now, tap on the group’s name for which you want to enable the feature.
3. Tap on the WhatsApp group’s name and head to the Group Info option.
4. Scroll down until you see the Group Settings option.
5. Under this, tap on the Approve New Participants option.
6. Now, select the On option from the pop-up to turn on the admin approval feature.

The Approve New Participants feature is a valuable addition to the WhatsApp platform, as it gives group admins more control over who can join their groups. It also helps prevent unwanted members from joining the group and keeps the chat safe and secure.

In conclusion, WhatsApp continues to provide its users with useful and innovative features to enhance their communication experience. The Approve New Participants feature is just one of the many features that WhatsApp has introduced to make group chats more secure and better moderated.
